Strip Away the Logo, Get the Job

CEOs always say the same thing to me about Sales candidates at Salesforce, Oracle and SAP.

“The Resume looks great Thomas. But can you dig deeper. If we take away the logo, could they have done their numbers?”

Series A-C Founders and C-Suite see working for a big company like Google as a medieval suit of armour. Looks great, very protective.

But not scrappy and good in close combat.

As such, sales reps who built strength in a big machine through inbound leads, brand recognition, case studies that sell half the deal before they speak….

How do they look when they take off their armour?

A different muscle group is built in smaller environments:

🔵 Stone cold outreach

🔵 No brand awareness

🔵 Earning trust from scratch

🔵 Handling “Who are you?” ten times a day

Neither is better. But they are different.

When hiring, the real question isn’t “Have they worked at a big name?”

It’s: Can they sell when the badge disappears?

Because strip away the logo… and that’s when you see the real strength.
